I apologize in advance for the super long blog I'm about to write, but so many fun things have been going on... and the summer isn't even halfway through! Hope you enjoy the pictures!
Mady turned two months in June and she is getting cuter and cuter every day. She's such a happy baby, full of smiles, and loves to coo when you talk to her. I think she's going to become quite a chatterbox when she gets older... just like her Mommy (as Daddy always says).
While still not her biggest fan, Aiden has definitely warmed up to his new little sister a lot more in the last month. He no longer asks us to put her on the floor, and now calls her "baby sister" or "baby sister Mady". It's pretty cute when he asks where she is, or if she's crying he'll call out "Mama! Come here! Baby sister crying!". He still has his jealous moments, but it is definitely getting better.
Here are some pics of Mady in her second month:
Loves looking at herself in the mirror, just like her brother!
Mady is such a strong girl! She can already hold her head up for a few minutes at a time and can roll onto her side (but that pesky arm keeps getting in her way =) ). I have a feeling she'll be sitting on her own and rolling over in no time!
I just love that she still has a full head of hair, slightly curly too! I'm hoping that it doesn't fall out!
We celebrated Father's Day this year with the gang. Aunt Josefina had a great idea and ordered the Dads shirts that said "I make adorable babies" and the kids shirts that said "adorable baby". It made for a pretty cute picture! It's amazing to see our group of 6 turn into a group of 11! It'll be great to watch all of our kids grow up together.
My best attempt to get a picture of Daddy with the kiddos...
Daddy and Aiden!
This year we took our annual trip to Myrtle Beach a little earlier than usual, going at the end of June instead of early July, and Vic's family joined us! It was a great week of fun, good food, and relaxation! Vic and I really enjoyed watching the kids have fun with their Grandparents and Aunties!
As Aiden gets older, he enjoys and appreciates the beach more. He still loves being in the water!
Being the overly cautious mother that I am, last year I wouldn't let Vic take Aiden into the ocean. I was too worried since he was so little! This year, Grandpa and Daddy took Aiden (equipped with a life vest just in case, thanks Grandpa!) into the waves and he LOVED every second!
Grandpa also taught Aiden how to jump into the pool! My Aiden is pretty timid about trying new things and he (like his mother) is also pretty cautious when it comes to new activities. But once he felt the rush of jumping and splashing into the pool, you couldn't stop him!

Night out in Myrtle!
Some more fun beach pics!
Playing in the pool with Daddy, Aunt Julliann and Aunt Elizabeth
Building sand castles... or some sort of sand formation... with Daddy and Aunt Elizabeth. Aiden loved filling his little bucket in the ocean and pouring it into the hole Daddy dug. It was his contribution to the project. =)
Haha, poor Aiden was so sad when we had to leave the beach/pool every day. He could have stayed there all day and all night. When we made him get out for lunch and naps, all he would ask is "more water? more water?". This is his little pouty face. Luckily, no tantrums came of it!
Love my little man!
Aunt Elizabeth and Mady!
We took Aiden back to WonderWorks this year. When we went last year, he was a bit too small to really enjoy it. It was a lot more fun this time around, but I think as he gets older and bigger, he'll like it more and more!
Aiden's favorite thing were the bubbles! He loved popping the bubbles that we made and squealed in absolute delight!
Myrtle Beach has a store called Ridemakerz, which is kind of like a Build-a-Bear workshop... but you build cars. Vic was really excited to take Aiden there this year, especially because cars are his thing right now. It was perfect for our monster truck loving boy. He built a Lightening McQueen and Tow Mater monster truck!
Here's Aiden helping Daddy put the monster truck together. He worked on Lightening McQueen as Auntie Elizabeth took care of Mater.
Putting on the wheels
All done!
Aiden loves his new trucks, and plays with them every day!
Here's our little Mady enjoying her first trip to the beach. I was a little worried about taking a 2 month old to the beach, but it was fantastic! We were able to keep her cool, comfortable and happy! We got lots of compliments from the other guests about how cute our kids are... I know, they're absolutely adorable. =)
At dinner... silly Aiden!
Aiden and Aunt Julliann
Aiden loves his Auntie!
The beach was wonderful as always, and what a treat it was to have Vic's family join us. I get so much joy in watching Aiden and Mady have so much fun with them. They love them so much!
Happy Fourth of July!! In celebration, we decked the kids out in their red, white and blues. We toyed with the idea taking them to watch the fireworks, but decided it was a bit too hot and enjoyed the holiday with burgers and hotdogs indoors.
I love my munchkins!
We took the kids to Logan's 4th birthday party, which had a fun Super Hero theme. Aunt Josefina and Uncle Mark did an amazing job with the decorations and cake! Aiden's not quite into costumes yet, so he went in his Superman t-shirt, complete with a cape! Our little Mady went dressed as Cinderella. =)
Our little princess!
Logan's party had a photo booth that Aunt Josefina and Uncle Mark created. Aiden loved playing in it!
Happy Birthday, Logan!!!
Since Aiden is a super picky eater, Vic and I have tried really hard to limit his sugar consumption... which basically means for the past 2.5 yrs, Aiden has not had any candy, cake or cookies. At the beach this year, we introduced Aiden to gummy bears and of course he loved them. He's not a big fan of cookies and cake, so I think his sweet tooth will be limited (like his Daddy), but he sure did enjoy the cake pops at Logan's party!
Yummy yummy!
I have to admit, taking care of a toddler and a baby keeps me pretty busy, so I haven't had as much time to spend with Mady doing tummy time and some of the things I did with Aiden when he was a baby. I'm happy to see that my little girl is pretty strong on her own!
My expression in this picture is hilarious. Daddy takes so many pictures of us.. almost too many!
This is a cute picture with Uncle Rez and Aunt Jen's son Kai. He is a super happy baby. I can't wait to watch these two grow up together!
Here's my helpful little guy taking care of his baby sister. He's trying to put her pacifier in her mouth. Definitely a good attempt, but not quite there yet. =)
Vic and I bought this swing for Aiden when he was a baby, but he hated it! Mady, on the other hand, loves it (which turns out to be so handy when Mommy is trying to multi-task). Now that Aiden sees his little sister enjoying HIS swing, he has decided that it is the perfect place to lounge.
Aiden is becoming so creative! He loves playing with his Mr Potatohead. Here are a few of his latest creations. I love when he's done putting one together and he comes running to show me. He says "Mama! Mr Potato!" and proceeds to show me all the different parts of his face (although not always in the correct spot =) ). He is so proud of himself, which makes me so happy!
Aiden is such a little sponge! Vic and I have to be pretty mindful of the things that we say and do because Aiden copies everything!! He's becoming more articulate with his speech, although still has some baby babble mixed into his sentences, but I am so excited that he is ability to speak Vietnamese is getting better!
Aiden also loves to sing and dance! I was able to catch him singing a little bit on my phone:
The start of summer has been a busy one so far! I am so sad that my maternity leave is almost over, only 2 more weeks! Even though I'll be returning to my same part time schedule, I've LOVED being home with my kiddos. Can't wait to see what the rest of summer brings!
